Television

My friends moved house last weekend, they started on Friday morning and on saturday we popped over to give them a hand. All was going very well but they were having problems with their TV, the picture was incredibly fuzzy and the sound was crap, they thought that they were going to have to make repairs or buy a new aerial.

We went to see them again this saturday, I asked how they had got on with the TV. They were quite embarassed. Jon had been up into the loft to do the wiggling the aerial drill, you know, the one where someone stands and watches the tv while someone else plays with the aerial and shouts down the stairs "is it better now?" "How about now" Tracy's watching the TV, and says to jon "yes i think it's getting a bit better...."

Turns out it wasn't getting a bit better at all, it couldn't have been - it wasn't even attached... They'd plugged the out-lead from their TV into the sky dish belonging to the previous residents.

Book Crossing

I have just joined the international Book Crossing website. Alex, my other half heard a radio programme about it a while ago and has mentioned it a couple of times but today i actually got round to checking it out.

Basically the idea is that you join up (free), register one of your favourite books (best if you have two copies) print off a sticker with a Book Crossing ID on, stick it in and "release your book into the wild" you then "tell" the website where you have left it and people can search by country, county and town for books in their area and go hunting for them.

I think it is a great idea. If you think so too, check out the link.

Better

Having tried a cocktail of berocca, lemsip, soup and fruit juice for the past couple of days in a failed attempt to feel better i decided to take the alcohol option. Went to the pub intending to only drink J20. Ended up having five pints of lager - not getting to bed until 01:30 and going to sleep expecting to feel like shit in the morning.

Worryingly, I feel the better than I have all week. What's going on there then?

iLL

I am ill and it is pants. I have got a cold and i don't want it anymore. Lemsip is great for getting rid of the sympotms but it also makes me feel sick. I am plying myself with Berocca (Vitamin pills developed in australia, have everything you need to get rid of a hangover) in the hope that the vitamin c, zinc and megnesium might get me somewhere, but it isn't working very quickly. Someone suggested a bottle of brandy - great! Because what i really what tomorrow is a cold AND a hangover!
